TECHNICAL STAGING NEEDS

These needs are designed for the optimum effectiveness of Cary's performance.  If any of these needs pose a problem, please contact Cary to discuss options.

STAGE:

The performing area is ideally 20 feet wide and at least 8 feet deep.  Please have the stage clean.  Avoid artwork, banners, props or music instruments in view behind the performance area.  A neutral and dark background is best.

Please do not set monitors or potted plants along the front of the stage, nor high table decorations in the audience, as these will obstruct viewing Cary while he is performing low to the stage surface.

LIGHTING:

The stage lighting must be brilliant into Cary's face, covering 20 feet wide across the front center of the stage.  If the stage lighting is not adequate, please provide a "follow-spot light," or two if possible.  The best alternative is to arrange professional stage lighting.

IF PORTABLE STAGING:

Please provide staging, ideally 20' wide and 12' deep. The height of the stage needed is determined by the size of the audience.  Please use the following stage heights:

For an audience of up to 100:                 At least 3 feet high.
For an audience between 100 to 1000:     At least 4 feet high.
For an audience of over 1000:                 At least 5 feet high.

A neutral, dark background is ideal.  Windows/mirrors in background must be covered.

The audience must not be seated viewing the stage from the direct sides.

SOUND:

Please provide a sound system adequate for the size of the room (Audio is requested up to 100 db. in larger auditoriums) with a CD player and mic with stand.  Also, please provide a technician to operate the CD player during the performance.

NO LIVE VIDEO PROJECTION DURING PERFORMANCE.

TECHNICAL REHEARSAL:

Please arrange for Cary an hour with sound and lighting technicians (uninterrupted, private rehearsal) prior to the performance.
